This large cherry bowl began with a simple chance find on Facebook Marketplace. What started as a quick message turned into an unexpected reunion with an old school teacher. From that meeting came a generous supply of cherry, salvaged after three mature trees had to be removed due to severe damage to the foundations of his home and his neighbours homes.

The bowl has a wide open form with a gentle curve that shows off the warm colour and flowing grain of cherry. It has a calm presence and a lovely weight in the hands, making it a beautiful centrepiece or a practical everyday piece. The grain shifts across the surface with soft movement, giving the bowl a natural depth and character.

Finished with Chestnut cellulose sanding sealer and Chestnut Microcrystalline Wax, the surface is smooth, durable and fully food and toy safe.
