Copper beech • Live edge bowl

This copper beech bowl was supplied through NC at Call Cal and carries the deep colour and strength that the species is known for. The form is bold with thick smooth rounded edges that make it incredibly tactile. It feels solid in the hands and has the presence of a true statement piece.

A dark bark inclusion runs through the rim and adds a dramatic contrast to the lighter grain. The patterning inside the bowl has a natural flow that shifts with the light, giving it a lively and expressive character. It is the kind of bowl that draws attention on a table and becomes an easy talking point.

Turned at low speed to keep the live edge intact, it is finished with Chestnut cellulose sanding sealer and Chestnut Microcrystalline Wax, leaving the surface smooth, durable and fully food and toy safe.
