Turned from Silver Birch sourced during maintenance work at a local business, this piece comes from the maker’s much‑loved “mushroom farm” — a growing collection shaped from rescued and reclaimed timber. What began as a simple experiment has become a favourite form, and it’s surprising how many people collect mushrooms of every shape, size, and material.

Standing 115mm high with a 125mm base, this mushroom showcases the distinct, beautifully textured silver birch bark, which lends itself perfectly to keeping the piece’s natural woodland feel. Each mushroom turned from this batch has its own personality, and this one is no exception — tactile, characterful, and full of quiet charm.

Finished with Chestnut cellulose sanding sealer and Chestnut Microcrystalline Wax, it is fully food‑safe and toy‑safe, with a smooth, warm surface that contrasts beautifully with the rugged bark.

Crafted using a live‑edge spindle turning method, the natural bark is preserved as the cap, giving the mushroom an authentic, organic presence. It’s a delightful decorative piece, perfect for shelves, desks, or as part of a growing mushroom collection.
